Yoga Evolution
Our yoga classes honor the history, tradition, and discipline of the practice with an awareness of exercise science and biomechanics. We encourage a balance of vigor and restoration, and our classes reflect this. We believe that the richness of the many lineages of yoga offer a kaleidescope of healing and artistic expression, and we welcome that variety.
Jennifer's teaching is inspired by her dancer's soul, and the collective wisdom of her teachers and guides including Noah Maze, Sianna Sherman, Saul David Raye, Scott Blossom, and her amazing border collie Mahina. Other teachers at EVOLUTION share the Anusara perspective as well as many other yogic traditions.
We offer one on one yoga instruction, private group sessions, outdoor yogaventures and outings, as well as regular classes at EVOLUTION studio. Refer to our Current Schedule for class levels and content.
Thai Massage
Jennifer offers Thai massage sessions as an integral part of her wellness coaching.
Her practice is influenced by the collective wisdom of her many teachers in yoga, dance, movement arts, and Thai Massage.
TRADITIONAL THAI MASSAGE is a practical application of the Buddhist principle of Metta or loving- kindness, the cornerstone of a quietly effective healing of body, mind and spirit. Thai Yoga Massage blends assisted Yoga stretches and the techniques of Traditional Thai Massage for a unique approach to balancing energy that is both nurturing and revitalizing.
THAI YOGA THERAPY consists of a series of interactive, flowing movements, stretches and rhythmic massage, along the body’s energy lines and pressure points. The often deeply meditative experience unblocks the flow of energy in the body by encouraging the release of tension, fear, mental and physical stress. This form of healing touch can be both subtle and profound.
Results typically include release of blocked energy in body and mind, as well as improved spinal alignment, better physical balance, improved joint mobility and increased flexibility. Clients who receive regular treatments also report enhanced mental clarity, deeper sleep, greater ease and joy of movement, improved stamina and vitality.
Treatments are performed with the client comfortably dressed on a padded mat on the floor. Typically, the practitioner will use most of his/her body, including feet, knees, forearms (and hands) to weave together a sequence of deeply healing stretches, rhythmic acupressure and gentle rocking moves. The application of these movements range form vigorous to gentle, from stimulating to gently soothing, depending on the needs of client. Each session is a unique blend of technique, intuition, sensitivity and communication between the giver and receiver.
One of Jennifer's principal teachers in this healing art is Saul David Raye.

Therapeutic flying utilizes gravity and metta (loving kindess) to release and open the flyers' spine while grounding and empowering the base. Here the flyer receives all the benefits of an inversion without any of the effort. This is the nectar of AcroYoga, aka Anti-Gravitational Spinal Elongation Therapy.
Jennifer draws on the collective wisdom of these great teachers, and her own life long journey of learning, exploring, and healing to humbly offer this practice from the heart.

Core Fusion
Our unique multidisciplinary approach to core training draws on pilates, yoga, athletic and dance training. Improve spinal health, muscular strength and flexibility, balance, coordination and posture.
Some classes feature BOSU balance trainers, medicine and stability balls while others focus on mat work and breathing techniques. Refer to our schedule of classes for details.
Gyrokinesis
Move your spine, feel joy...BREATHE. Gyrokinesis® exercises are designed to work the entire body through spinal movement and joint articulation. Based on the body’s natural ability to move forward and backward and side to side, the movements are designed to be rhythmic and fluid. Rather than specific postures or stances being held for long periods of time,Gyrokinesis® exercises are smoothly integrated, seeming more like dance than traditional yoga. Natural breathing patterns are also incorporated into Gyrokinesis® exercises.
Class begins seated on stools, with flowing movements that gently begin to open up the spaces in your body. The rhythmic movements, resembling a dance, martial arts, yoga, and sometimes even swimming, awaken and stimulate all systems in the body. Lubricating the joints, increasing the metabolism, and strengthening and awakening the core.

Modern Tribe
Explore, connect, move! This movement art class is a fusion of dance, yoga, martial arts, acrobatics, and more. We explore rhythm, shape, momentum, sound, maybe even flight! We practice creating sensitivity, strength, and flow through our entire bodies. We move through the space, on the floor and with each other. Come let music awaken you and unleash your energy into a kaleidescope of expression. Break out of the box, and experiment with new movement possibilities.
This is not a technical dance class, it is open to all levels.

Pilates
Fundamentals & Dynamic Mat Training
Pilates is a precise method that teaches, core strength, fluid motion, and dynamic flexibility. Mat classes always include core principles and progressive combinations to challenge coordination, strength and movement awareness. Private lessons as well as small group training available by appointment.
Personal Training and Coaching
Evolution specializes in coaching individuals, partners, and small groups. We focus on more specific, precise, and challenging training than one would receive in a large, generalized group class. Personal training addresses your specific challenges and training sessions are tailored to your specific needs. We will closely monitor your technique, keep your workouts consistent and
efficient, and constantly give you feedback for motivation.
You will progress faster with the time and attention of your coach. You will understand what you are doing and why you are doing it.
All this contributes to an increased commitment to your personal evolution. That process is what we enjoy doing with you, it is our passion and why we created EVOLUTION.
Small Group Training
Much like personal training, small group training allows you to get more specialized, coached workouts while saving you money. By training with a few workout partners you get and give each other support, challenge, inspiration and camaraderie. By committing to the group, you make each other accountable and push each other to continue evolving towards your goals. Small group work can range from general fitness training to sport specific, to special needs (i.e. yoga for cycling, or diabetes basics workout.)
